Comunità Nuova ONLUS located in Milan (Lombardy Region - Italy) looks for partners in Europe for a project in the field of sport in order to participate to the next Call ErasmusPlus - Sport Action with deadline 26th june 2014.
Title of the project will be "No violence in sports".
Comunità Nuova ONLUS is a not for profit organization founded on 1973 and based in Milan (Italy), which is active in the field of youth and social affairs and disadvantaged people (e.g. migrants, minorities, etc.). The organization has 70 employees and more than 100 volunteers. During the past year (2012) more Comunità Nuova carried out more than 45 initiatives with more than 23.000 beneficiaries; as a general rule Comunità Nuova cooperates with local authorities, private enterprises, other non-profit organisations, sport organizations, religious bodies, schools and other NGOs. The main fields of activity of Comunità Nuova are as follows:
·Family and child: initiatives for protection and promotion of rights of child and young people and families; communities for child and young people with social and/or familiar problems; familiar mediation; educational and training courses; hospitality for children.
·Youth: promoting active participation of young people in society; promoting and managing informal youth groups and youth centres; prevention of and fight against early school leaving of young students; informal and non-formal education for young people, particularly for disadvantage groups; multidisciplinary and educational activities in schools and youth sports organizations for promoting sports values, social inclusion, active citizenship; volunteer service and cooperation.
·Drugs and other addictions: Preventing and reducing the drug use and drug addiction; improving information about drug use in particular in schools and local communities; care services and assistances for people suffering from drugs addictions.
·Social inclusion and migrants: support services and assistance to children and migrants for Third Countries; legal services, counselling and advisory services for migrants; initiatives and projects in the field of criminal justice; social housing and temporary hospitality for migrants and disadvantaged people; promoting active participation in civil society and local communities
The purpose of the project is to fight against incidents of violence and intolerance in sports, at schools and in youth sectors, particularly at amateur level. The project is based on experiences and results of the EU funded project ELYS 2011-2012 and the approach “Io tifo positive” that has been developed by the applicant Comunità Nuova ONLUS for more than 5 years in Italy.
The specific aim of the project is to further develop the previous European project (ELYS I) as well as sharing the lessons learnt with new organizations from other EU Members States (e.g. France, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Lithuania, Czech Republic, etc.).
Furthermore the project ELYS II will pay particular attention to the creation of local networks with sport stakeholders (e.g. sport associations, sport clubs, public bodies active in the field of sports, schools, religious bodies, etc.) in order to raise awareness and promote the true values of sport (respect, fair play, no to racism and xenophobia, etc).
A number of specific initiatives and pilot projects for developing “sports partnerships” will be undertaken at local level among project partners and local sport stakeholders in order the promote the “European sport chart without violence”.
The project consists of Sport Educational Laboratories (Sport Camps) in partners Countries, through multidisciplinary and creative activities with young people at school, in order to promote real EU values in sport, and to fight against violence and intolerance in sports. The sport camps will be targeted to young people 13-18 years old.
During the project duration a number of transnational events and meetings will take place in partners Countries to transferring the experiences and methodology of ELYS I/io tifo positivo to new partners along with the sharing of best practices in the field of the project. The communication and dissemination plan of the project will assure the maximum visibility and transferability of project results, even after the end date.
